Meet Maé Bérénice Méité

(h/t Marie Moltime)

I never get tired of our athletes, ladies, especially when they're figure skaters or artistic gymnasts (*shrug* I'm just girly like that).

Meet the new dark chocolate goddess from France, 18-year-old Maé Bérénice Méité.  She started skating in 1999 and has since won numerous national and international titles.  In addition to French, she fluently speaks English and Spanish and plays the violin.

And...she's just plain fabulous.

Watch how she rolls.

  1. *swoon* She's so beautiful. She skates with an effortless fluidity. She music choices are perfect and so is her skin.

I wonder what the commentator in the last video meant when he said "Would you believe it she does come from France." ???

Also that last outfit ... the pink one needs to be mine. I'd find somewhere to wear it.

    1. She has very good artistry.

Honestly, I've started ignoring commenters when the athlete in question is black. Saves time and money on blood pressure medicine.

    2. Then those fuckwards at sochi2014.com must have "forgotten" to add her to the master list of skaters. I was wondering how the hell France passed her over.

Looks like Cheltzie Lee didn't make it though. I was really hoping she'd compete.

    3. Looks like a lot of things were forgotten in Sochi. Like how to properly install toilet seats. >_>

Man, where did all that money go?

    4. Unless there is another master list I didn't notice; she is up there along with Vanessa James also skating for France.

    1. I'm trying to find it online because you know the US doesn't show foreign athletes if they can help it! I just read that there are other skaters who haven't gone yet like Kim Yuna; so she may move further down. They are doing this crazy team points thing so I'm still trying to figure that out.

    2. The ladies short/free programs will be skated on the 19th & 20th. I guess what they did before was to compete for team medals which is why you didn't see people like Kim Yuna skate.

  4. Elana Myers/ Lauryn Williams take silver in bobsleigh; Aja Evans took bronze. And poor Lolo took 11th place. Yuna Kim is leading after the ladies short program with the Russians banging on the door to get in. Meite is number 9 after the short program.
