Black Girls' Night Out: Michonne

In Episode 305, Michonne gets more screen time, and my personal opinion is that she just walked up and took it.  Not content to wait on motherfuckers (a practice I support), Michonne broke into the Governor’s house and took back her katana.

Once she got out of the house, she came across some caged walkers, and being a BAMF…got in a little target practice.  The look on her face is classic.

What I don’t like what they’re doing with her character is making her talk in riddles and double-speak instead of being as clear as I feel her character is.  She hasn’t had much to say since the season started, and one should get the impression that when she chooses to speak, her words should pack a punch.  But I guess that’d be too much like right.  Michonne makes comments like, “This place isn’t what they say it is,” instead of just saying, “These motherfuckers are crazy!”

I guess because she’s such an important character, she’s got to be in the show.  But I can’t wait to compare her book characterization to AMC’s portrayal.

Fans, feel free to engage in the discussion on Musings in the Dark.

  1. I'm just waiting to see if they're going to take it all the way there. Don't want to put any spoilers.

    2. From what I can gather, they're waiting to see how the story unfolds compared to the comics. I'd like to hear the opinions of fans of the books about this.

  2. Ok...I had to do my usual and catch up. Let's start with the fact Andrea and Michonne were not bff''s in the books, so I don't see this connection where Michonne would stay because of her. This is where Tyrese would have came into play because him and Michonne developed a relationship.

Michonne was definitely about the logistics, she was like a general and she expressed that. I don't know what the tv show is trying to do but it ain't working. You have a main character from the books why arn't you giving her dialog of a main character.
