    1. If she's not Black, then I'm Asian Indian.. which I'm part of,but I'm still Black and proud to be.Who does she think she is? She should learn from her protege (sarcasm) Tiger Woods. He came up with that ",Cabliasian "category and still was treated like garbage .Naomi may have her ways, but she's are spot on with this chick. Can't support people who don't seem to have favorable thought about Black people. Hopefully, she will not win.

    2. Don't worry, her 'N*gg3r Wake-Up Call' (to use a term I learned via Tumblr) will soon occur. With any luck, it will knock some sense into her poor brain.

    3. I just laugh when she said that! Alex Wek, I man, Beverly Johnson, Kimora Lee Simmons and Naomi became international models. To me, they all look far more like international material than Mrs.Devyn.

Modern society really needs to begin to
understand the simple fact that -- THERE
IS NO SUCH THING AS A so-called
      'LIGHT-SKINNED BLACK' person.
      .
The truth of the matter is that such individuals
are actually (and quite simply) people who are
      of a 'Multi-Generational Multiracially-Mixed'
(MGM-Mixed) Lineage -- a lineage that some of
them may have been pressured and / or otherwise
“encouraged" to ignore, downplay or even deny.

      .
      http://dir.groups.yahoo.com/group/Generation-Mixed/message/4160
      .

      THESE (falsely) “black-categorized”
      INDIVIDUALS ARE, in actuality, the
people who are actually of a continually
MIXED-RACE lineage -- and the very
      term, itself, of “Light-Skin(ned) Black”
      is merely a racist-oxymoron that – (much
      like the racist-‘One-Drop Rule’ upon
which this racist-term is actually based) –
was created by racial-supremacists in an
attempt to degrade Black blood lines.
      .

THE ONLY WAY that a MIXED-RACE
person COULD BE viewed upon as being
      racially-"BLACK" IS VIA an adherence
      to THE RACIST-‘ONE-DROP RULE’.

      THE RACIST-‘ONE-DROP RULE’ was a 100%
      non-scientific, socially-constructed "rule" that
WAS CREATED by racial-supremacists in an
insulting attempt TO DEGRADE all BLACK
BLOOD LINEAGE – AND – which WAS also
      LEGALLY-BANNED in the U.S.
      back IN 1967.

      .
      http://dir.groups.yahoo.com/group/Generation-Mixed/message/4162
      .

The FACT that the racist-’One-Drop Rule’ was
created to DEGRADE Black blood lineage means
that any BLACK person who supports the (clearly
      ‘Black-Lineage Degrading') racist-'One-Drop Rule'
either has no self-esteem, is insane and / or is an idiot.
      .

The LINKS in the SIDEBAR of my YouTube
CHANNEL explain this in greater detail.
      .

      .

People of Mixed-Race lineage should NOT
feel pressured to 'identify' according to
any standards other than one's own.

Listed below are related Links of 'the facts' of the histories
of various Mixed-Race populations found within the U.S.:
      .

There is no proof that a 'color-based slave hierarchy'
(or that 'color-based social-networks') ever existed
as common entities -- within the continental U.S.

      http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Generation-Mixed/message/4153
      .

It was the 'Rule of Matriliny (ROM) --
[a.k.a. 'The Rule of Partus' (ROP)] -- and
NOT the racist-'One-Drop Rule' (ODR) --
that was used to 'create more enslaved
      people' on the continental U.S.
      .
This is because the chattel-slavery system that was
once found on the antebellum-era, continental U.S.
was NOT "color-based" (i.e. "racial") -- but rather
      -- it was actually "mother-based" (i.e. 'matrilineal').

There were many ways (and not solely the sexual assault
and sexual exploitation of the women-of-color) in which
'white' lineage entered the familial bloodlines of
enslaved-people found on the continental U.S.

  5. There may be tons of things that may be on my mind. Not that it's any surprise, but there is a recent news article about a young NYPD cop who was accused of making inflammatory remarks about gays, Blacks, Latinos and women .From what is being said about this racist ,his dad is said to be a high ranking official with the NYPD.

I'm also tired.. just tired of some of these reality/talk shows. One of the reason why I barely watch TV is because it mostly trash TV.Call me crazy, but a lot of these shows have become explotive. I didn't think that Blaxploitation would make a come back, but it have. Why look at pictures of the 70s when you can look at some of these shows? I just find it hard to believe that the Black people they find to be on that show just happens to seem like they come from someone's gutter. Some people may argue that don't have to be on there. Sure, they don't have to be,but the idea of some of these folks going on those shows to be made fools of is bad.In some ways, these shows are worse than Blaxploitation.

    1. These shows make me ill. Tomfoolery at its best. The problem I have is other blacks support these shows (calling them harmless) and when a decent show featuring POC comes out they do not support it. Of course it gets cancelled and the top dogs have a reason not to attempt anymore.

  7. Here's another news tip on Bossip.com via Radar online.com.

If you ever heard about Amanda Bynes(Was on Nickelodeon ), she's been doing a Lindsay Lohan number with the booze, drugs and nonchalant clubbing. Ok, for a while she's been doing some off the wall things for while now..no surprise there. From those days nobody heard jack from her folks.

Now here is where the "good" part (if you want to call it that) comes in at.Understandably, the poster from Bossip reacts sarcastically to them.It has been said that Amanda wants Drake to have sex with her .(I'm saying it nicer). It seems that soon as she said that her folks began to express their "concern ".

I'm not a fan of Amanda or Drake, but I brought this up because of Amanda's folks. I'm not saying that they weren't concern about her doing this crazy stuff, but they just want to come out soon as she expressed her interest in Drake--a biracial Black man?I could be wrong, maybe Amanda's folks could be very concerned about her looking like a whore, but I just find it too ironic soon as she said she wanted to have sex with Drake .

Would her folks been as quick to come out of the closet if she would wanted to have some sex with let's say Macklemore? Maybe idk,but I smell a slight rat with Amanda's folks. I want to be wrong about this.

    1. I think its just the case of her crazy getting even crazier. Nothing was said when she was messing around with Kid Cudi. Well until she starting spreading their business all over twitter and he dumped her. I think they see her heading down (she is waaaaaayyy past heading) the Lindsay Lohan Highway. And let's be honest if you put something out like that some guys are going to take you up on it. IDK. More messed up kids with too much money and nothing to do. I'm sure sooner or later (if she hasn't already) she will pull a Rihanna and start posting nude pictures of herself.

  8. How about the black female developer evangelist who got fired after tweeting about some white guys who were sitting near her making sexist jokes.
Since we regularly see people tweeting pictures of other people all of the time, the complaints that she invaded their privacy seem ridiculous, and if you want to be racist or sexist, it is in fact creating a hostile environment if you choose to do it within earshot of other people
At any rate, she reported the guys, they were ejected from the conference, their company fired her (none of which she had any hand in), so her company fired her and of course the racist trolls have been posting her personal information and threatening to rape and kill her.
As a black woman in tech and unfortunately in the Bay, this place is the worst for black women and people aren't used to black people in any context(not as peers, not as the help, nothing) so I'm sure she's getting it way worse than if she was a white or Asian woman.

    1. I just read about that. I can't believe she got fired. I have noticed more attacks against minorities and women in the last few months. It's getting ugly. I have a major problem with tweeting in general though. I do not think you can just send pictures of people without their knowledge. We had some high school guys sending pictures of girl's body parts recently. Its creepy. I think she should have spoken with someone at the conference to have them removed. Is that saying they did no wrong. No. I'm guessing they do crap like that all the time and are p*ssed at getting caught. Now I admit I'm not in tech so I do not know the environment and its attitude towards women. If it is like a lot of male dominated jobs then its not surprising at all these guys were acting like that.

    2. Like most people have been saying, since Obama got in office, retaliation against minorities have went up like crazy. Lynching us on a rope have been replaced by junk like this. As my mom has often said to me, Black people cannot do what White folks can. Though women in general gets shafted, if this woman would have been White, those guys chances of staying on their jobs would have decreased and people would have been feeling bad for this woman. Since she's Black, no way.If you're a minority, justice against White men are a drop in the bucket ..and barely that.

Speaking of hypocritical justice, looks easy if Robert Zimmerman can't keep his trap shut about Trayvon
Martin and now the 2 two teens accused of killing a baby in Brunswick Ga. Normally, I would be pissed at this, but as the saying goes "Loose lips sink ships". Let him keep running his mouth..maybe he could be the demise of his brother's freedom (Though I'm sure that the courts will always find a way to make GZ,I sure hope that his big mouth may tarnish his case) .I seem this onein Blackvoices..com

    3. @Lesa, I don't use Twitter and hate Facebook and personally would not take pictures of people without permission but given the way people operate, I don't think she was out of line to take their picture. And I think complaining to the conference organizers, not the photo is what got them kicked out.

I will say that in this world, very few people can claim to have a problem with getting "tweeted" or "retweeted" in some way since people post way too much information about themselves online in general.

We probably do need to respect certain forms of privacy more than we do, but it's hard to find people who aren't hypocrites in this regard.

She didn't take a picture of those guys in a vulnerable spot, not in the bathroom, not while they were unclothed, and in my opinion it's not the same as men who post women or girl's body parts. She also didn't take their pictures and say anything that was ugly, bigoted, or untrue, and as a black woman, I have in fact had people invade my privacy for the purpose of mocking my blackness/gender/hair/etc. I do not think this is the same situation. I mean, just compare how much gender and whitness shield them. No one is saying those guys should be killed or castrated, but this women is having all of those threats lobbed against her.

We just don't have any good etiquette around social media(I wish people didn't take pictures of other people but it's hard to control) but I'm not sure I take offense at someone taking a picture of you being an asshole as opposed to someone taking your picture to say how ugly, stupid, etc. you are.

And I will say that from a corporate perspective, many large companies have "ethics training" that involves teaching us that we represent the company at professional conferences and should behave accordingly. What should not happen is that I get retaliated against for reporting racism, sexism, chauvinism.

Ugh, I had a better comment but I accidentally cut it so sorry that I did not do a better job making my point here.

    4. No you made your point. Their picture was taken in a public place and from what I saw of the picture they knew. Or at least suspected their picture was being taken. I get paranoid when I'm in the gym and someone comes in with their phone. I'm always wondering if they are taking pictures and I'm being plastered someone place on the web without my knowledge.

Even though there are ethics training and policies; I do not see them being used or enforced much. Look at the girls being raped in colleges (seems like everywhere all of a sudden) and being punished for reporting it.

  9. Oh, to answer your other question being a black women in tech feels like being a black women in America only amplified. Unsafe, hostile, racist, and sexist. People who don't want you there, do their best to make you feel unwelcome, and will use any and everything to scapegoat you and force you out.
I'm sure her job cannot have been pleasant if her company used this as an excuse to fire her. They love to claim that none of us are "qualified" but they will hire degree-less white or Asian people who they'll insist are "prodigies" while turning down degree holding black people.
So I can imagine that she tweeted them being assholes b/c she's had to listen to a lot of guys like them be assholes at a lot of events. I have one friend(also black, female, tech degree) who has been here in tech 5x longer than me and she basically has no interest in being married or dating b/c of all of the crap she has to hear from men as what is usually the lone woman/black woman at events. It's either them feeling free to discuss their exploits b/c she doesn't count/matter OR them feeling free to make sexual requests that they assume she'll happily fulfill since she is a black chick after all. She said people will bring up gross and inappropriate things or proposition her in situations that you would never expect it.
It's a very unsafe place for us and I honestly could see some of these women-hating/black folk hating people doing something to her. I really, really could. Socially awkward men somehow manage to develop a lot of anger and entitlement in regards to women. If they manage to make money, it gets uglier.
And I cannot emphasize how much they do not think we should be here.
