  1. Oh my, where shall I begin ?

1 )Of course my number one gripe will be with the irresponsible ,juvenile behavior of the NYPD, Their gripes remind me of parent telling their kids that they need to be responsible for their own mess. They don't want to own up to what they did not matter how much evidence are in their faces. It's funny how their police union is blaming the Prez and their mayor for the " anti-police sentiment of their cops. Hmmm..maybe they should look at SELMA and ask themselves were either of them around and/or too young to tell them what to do.( My respectable belief is that one is Black and the other have a Black wife. They feel that they're beneath them)

    2) The Washington DC bus driver(s) who almost let those 8 siblings freeze to death. That is cruel.

    3) Nothing new but I also have a gripe with media with the handling of of the story about the bombing of the NAACP/barbership in Colorado and social media had to out this story( Though I seen this story on my local TV news station. I don't know if everybody seen it) .

    4) Oprah's negative attitude about the anti-police brutality protesters. I disagree with Oprah take about them. They do have leadership. As one young lady said ALL of them are leaders. Why do they need person to direct the movement when all of them can contribute something great to it. Another thing what she also forgets is what worked in the past isn't working for people today. Whether she agree/not agree with the protesters, they're doing what they see as fit for their cause.. and it's working. It is getting the attention of people to take action and in some cases they are. Different times, sometimes call for different measures. That is what Oprah don't get.

    5) I've mentioned this before, but along with Oprah, they're are too many entertainers who have simply forgot where they came from. Now they have some money, their frame of thoughts go right out of the door. When I was a teenager, most Black entertainers..especially old school rappers would get together and rap about a social issue that was dear to them like sex, gang violence, police brutality etc..you named it,they sung about it. Now,they only thing they get mad is at stupid stuff and I could careless about it as it will not help the families of Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Eric Garner or Mike Brown. I mean..really what is throwing shade at someone for dissing their hair or the way they look is going to do for me as a Black person?

    1. This is what intellect reads like, too many people are condemning the protestors rather than the police, that type of attitude is very telling. the belief that Black people still need to shuffle by quietly to get what they deserve as citizens and humans beings is not going to work. While people big up Dr. Martin Luther King, he did amazings things for us as a people, these are the same people who ignore Malcolm X, as though his fight back spirit did not aid in change as well.

    2. Thank you Amanda O! They stay "forgetting" about Malcolm! As if Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks were the only ones fighting for civil rights! They were great, but they weren't the only ones! It's very telling who they choose to leave out.

    3. *blink* Wonder why they always leave out Nat Turner.....

  2. In my country, freedom of speech was said to have been attacked this week, this and our nation's foundation. I do get it, but somehow in my mind, I can't help but think that it's not this, it's more than that. It's everything. Many people in Western countries are lost, feel marginlized or pushed on the side, empoverished, looked down upon...in societies that travialize everything, display everything while manipulating the truth and joke about anything. The result is the rise of extremism in many different forms: extreme right-wing (racist political party), islamophobia, anti-semitism, even defiance towards religions, a form of radicalized Islam/etc, hostility towards gay marriage, hatred of the West (espcially America) from some Muslim countries because of foreign policies, fear of not being safe out there, of getting poorer, etc.
I haven't watched TV more than usual this week...I don't want to.

    2. Because if you trivialize the problems of the world, you can avoid responsibility for them.
